Your file is uploaded to our server to be processed, so it does leave your device. Temporary files are removed as soon as processing finishes, and the uploaded original is deleted automatically within 120 minutes at the latest. Nothing is stored permanently.

Microsoft removed Publisher from Microsoft 365, and a .pub file does not open anywhere else: Word, PowerPoint, Canva and the Mac cannot read it. Drop your .pub files here, a whole folder, or a ZIP of folders, and get them back as PDF for printing and sharing, as PNG or JPG images of every page, or as ODG to keep editing in LibreOffice Draw. The folder structure stays the same, and you can also get one combined PDF of everything.

Before you pay, page 1 of up to 20 files appears as a preview, with the number of pages and every font the file asks for that is not available. Microsoft fonts are replaced by open fonts: Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, Cambria, Georgia, Arial Narrow, Segoe UI, Palatino, Bookman and Century Schoolbook by twins with the same letter widths, so every line breaks where it did; others such as Garamond, Franklin Gothic, Gill Sans or Rockwell by the closest open design, and the report says so. Old Publisher 97 and 98 files that store text in a Turkish, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic or Central European Windows code page come out with their letters intact.

The conversion runs on our server with LibreOffice in an isolated container that has no network access, one file at a time with a time limit, so a damaged file fails alone instead of stopping the batch. You get one ZIP with your folders, and a report in CSV and HTML listing every file with its status, pages, fonts used and fonts replaced. Be honest with yourself about complex layouts: no converter reproduces every Publisher feature. Text that flows through linked text boxes, WordArt effects and some embedded objects can come out simplified, and the preview shows it. ›How do I open a .pub file without Publisher?

›My old .pub file shows strange letters instead of ş, ğ or Cyrillic text.

Publisher 97 and 98 stored text in the code page of the Windows that saved the file. The converter detects it; if an old file still looks wrong in the preview, pick the language from the list and the preview is made again.

›Which Publisher versions are supported?

Files from Publisher 97 and 98, 2000 through 2003, 2007, 2010 and later. Password-protected files and files that are damaged are reported as failed and do not use a credit.
