Image to SVG Vectorizer

Turn a PNG or JPG into clean vector paths. Pick what the file is for — screen, print (PDF/X) or cutting — and the tracer prepares the output for it and reports what it checked.

Tracing runs on a temporary worker service; the upload is deleted when the job ends. Avoid sensitive files.

Purpose

The purpose decides the engine, the clean-up and which checks run.

How it works

  1. Upload a PNG or JPG (logos, stickers, stencils, line art work best).
  2. Pick the purpose: Screen, Print (PDF/X) or Cut, and the cut mode if cutting.
  3. Download the SVG / PDF / EPS and read the check results below the preview.

Guides

Step-by-step articles for the three purposes and the cut report.

Tips

  • For cutting, enter the real design width in mm — the gap and neck checks are measured in mm.
  • Blade width 0.5 mm suits most vinyl plotters; lasers can go lower.
  • If the contract fails, the report tells you how much to enlarge the design.
  • Photos and scans trace poorly; flat colours with clear edges give clean paths.
Server-sideProcessed on our server, then deleted

Your file is uploaded to our server to be processed, so it does leave your device. Temporary files are removed as soon as processing finishes, and the uploaded original is deleted automatically within 120 minutes at the latest. Nothing is stored permanently.

About

This vectorizer turns a PNG or JPG into vector paths and prepares the output for what you will do with it. Pick Screen for the smallest, smoothest SVG for web and apps. Pick Print for RIP-ready geometry: transparency is flattened to paper white and you can download SVG, a PDF/X-ready PDF or EPS. Pick Cut when the file is going to a vinyl plotter or a laser.

The cut purpose does more than trace. Layered mode writes one closed-contour layer per colour (groups named katman-N-rrggbb, so each sheet can be cut separately); single-colour mode keys the foreground on one colour — picked automatically or chosen by you — and cleans it for the blade. In both modes the tracer runs a cut check on the final paths with the blade width you enter (default 0.5 mm): the smallest feature, the narrowest gap between shapes and the narrowest neck inside a shape are measured in millimetres. Enter the real design width so the millimetre checks mean something.

If the check fails, the tracer tightens its clean-up and tries again, up to three rounds with growing clean-up radius and small patch discs on the narrow spots. The result panel shows whether the cut contract passed, the measured mm values, and — when it still fails — how much the design has to be enlarged to become cuttable at that blade width. When it passes but clean-up had to merge detail, a detail warning shows the retained detail percentage so you can decide whether to enlarge the design or use a higher-resolution source.

Every job also reports its outcome status: done, cut contract not met, or quality check failed, the last meaning the output was produced but did not pass the tracer’s own comparison against the source. Compare the preview with the original before sending such a file to a machine. The preview lists the colour layers of a layered cut file and lets you hide or show each one.

Inputs are PNG and JPG up to 25 MB and 16 megapixels. Flat colours, clear edges and reasonable resolution give the cleanest paths; photos, scans and heavy JPEG artefacts trace poorly whatever the purpose. The upload is handled by a temporary worker service and deleted when the job ends.

How it works

  1. 1Open Image to SVG Vectorizer and choose your file or enter the required input.
  2. 2Check the settings and start the process.
  3. 3The tool creates the result with temporary server-side processing.
  4. 4Download the output or copy the result when it is ready.

FAQ

›What is the difference between Screen, Print and Cut?
Screen optimises for the smallest, smoothest SVG. Print keeps the geometry exact, flattens transparency to paper white and can export PDF/X or EPS. Cut produces closed contours cleaned for a blade and runs a cut check in mm.
›What does the cut check measure?
The smallest feature, the narrowest gap between shapes and the narrowest neck inside a shape, all on the final paths and in millimetres, against the blade width you enter (default 0.5 mm).
›What happens when the cut contract is not met?
The tracer tightens its clean-up for up to three rounds. If the narrowest spot still stays below the limit, the report states by what percentage the design must be enlarged to become cuttable at that blade width.
›What is the detail warning?
When the contract passes only because thin details were merged or removed, the report shows the retained detail percentage (boundary length after clean-up over before) so you can enlarge the design or use a higher-resolution source.
›What are layered and single-colour cut modes?
Layered writes one closed-contour layer per colour (katman-N-rrggbb groups) for multi-colour vinyl. Single colour keys the foreground on one colour — auto-picked or chosen — and outputs one cleaned silhouette.
›Why does the result say the quality check failed?
The output was produced but did not pass the tracer’s own comparison against the source image. Check the preview against the original; the warnings list says what was off.
›Which files can I upload?
PNG and JPG up to 25 MB and 16 megapixels. The upload is handled by a temporary worker service and deleted when the job ends.
