STL Splitter for Your Print Bed

Too big for the plate? Pick your printer and we cut the model into parts that fit, each one closed with a flat face so it slices as it is. Parts keep their original position, so they line up again when glued.

The model is cut by flat planes into a grid of parts that each fit the bed with 1 mm to spare. Every cut face is closed, so each part is a solid your slicer accepts. Nothing is scaled or moved: the parts keep the model's coordinates.

About

A 300 mm statue on a 256 mm plate, a cosplay helmet on an A1 mini, a sign longer than the bed: the model is fine, it just does not fit. This tool cuts it into parts that do. Choose your printer from the list (Bambu Lab A1 mini, A1/P1/X1, H2D, Prusa MINI, MK4S, CORE One, XL, Creality Ender 3, K1, K1 Max, Elegoo Neptune 4 and Neptune 4 Max, Anycubic Kobra, Sovol, Voron, and the common resin printers) or type the build volume, and the model is cut by flat planes into the smallest grid of parts that fit with 1 mm to spare on every side.

Every cut is closed. The loop the plane leaves on each side is triangulated into a flat cap, holes included, so each part is a solid, watertight body your slicer accepts without repair. The parts keep the model's original coordinates: import them all and they sit exactly where they belong, which is what you want for gluing and for checking the fit. Before cutting, the mesh gets the same clean-up as the STL Repair tool: non-manifold edges separated, duplicate and collapsed triangles removed, holes up to 500 edges closed.

The report tells you what you got: how many parts and in which grid, whether every part is closed, and the parts' total volume against the original, which is the honest check that nothing was lost or doubled. Models built from overlapping bodies that were never unioned are cut shell by shell, so each shell stays closed; the report says so when a part could not be closed, which happens only when the input itself had open or intersecting surfaces.

The parts arrive as one ZIP of binary STLs named by their grid position. Files are processed on our server in isolated memory and deleted within 15 minutes of your download. One file up to 50 MB a day is free; a credit pack, a 24-hour pass or a subscription covers the rest, shared with the STL Compressor and STL Repair.

How it works

  1. 1Open STL Splitter for Your Print Bed and choose your file or enter the required input.
  2. 2Check the settings and start the process.
  3. 3The tool creates the result with temporary server-side processing.
  4. 4Download the output or copy the result when it is ready.

FAQ

How are the cut faces closed?
The loop a cut leaves on each side is triangulated into a flat cap, with any inner loops kept as holes. Each part is checked afterwards: every edge must belong to exactly two triangles, and the report shows how many parts passed.
Will the parts fit back together?
Yes. Nothing is moved, rotated or scaled; every part keeps the coordinates it had in the whole model. Cuts are straight planes, so mating faces are flat and the parts glue edge to edge.
Can I choose where to cut?
Not yet. The cuts are evenly spaced along each axis that is too long, which gives the fewest parts of equal size. Pegs, dovetails and custom cut positions are on the list.
My printer is not in the list.
Choose Custom and type the build volume in millimetres. The tool keeps 1 mm free on every side, so a 220 mm plate takes parts up to 218 mm.
The report says some parts are not closed.
That happens when the model itself had open or self-intersecting surfaces: bodies that overlap without being unioned, or a scan with gaps. Every closed shell is still cut and capped on its own; check the flagged parts in your slicer, or run STL Repair first.
Is there a limit?
Uploads up to 300 MB and up to 64 parts per model. If a model would need more, choose a bigger bed or scale the model down first.
Does the original file change?
No. You get a ZIP of new STL files; the upload is deleted within 15 minutes of your download.
